Annual Conference 2008 A Triumphant Performance!

The conference, held at a conference venue near Stratford upon Avon over two and a half days had the overall topic of Performance in IT and Charities, and was a considerable success.
One hundred and thirteen people attended the conference - with sixty six members from forty seven charities taking part. This represents a twenty percent increase over last year!
Very positive evaluations of speakers and sessions highlighted the value attendees got from the presentations and from the networking among IT peers that was much in evidence.
A Masterclass on IT and Carbon Footrpint within Organisations was lead by a very experienced and skilled team from the British Computer Society.
'Performance and the Business' included a challenging keynote from Jackie Ballard, CEO of RNI.
A hectic strategic business activity lead to one of the ten Teams taking part collecting Prizes of IOD membership for the best managed team over the three simulated years.
Robert Carolina gave a stimulating pre-dinner talk on 'Closing the Cyberspace Frontier'
The last day, on 'Performance and Technology' was led by Sal Cooke from JISC on advances in technology use. Two member case studies on a collaborative helpdesk and on learning from disasters were followed by a fascinating debate on social networking.
The conference concluded with Ian Mcdermott talking to us about our personal legacies.
