CCITDG appoint a new Chair for the group and the new 09/10 committee.
Sarah Winmill (Victoria and Albert Museum) has been duly appointed the CCITDG chair person after the retirement of David Clayden (Salvation Army).
Sarah is Head of Information Systems Services at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Britain’s national museum of art and design. She relishes working for arts/heritage charities, previously enjoying the Royal Academy of Arts, Historic Royal Palaces (including HM Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace), and the Royal Albert Hall.
Following four years at the Royal College of Music studying viola, her early IT career focused on ticket sales and retail systems. A fascination with data networks lead to a move into infrastructure, and then on into technology management.
Sarah is a member of the British Computer Society (BCS), the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies, and is a Chartered IT Professional. She serves on the committee of BCSWomen , the BCS Specialist Group providing virtual networking and support for women working and studying in IT. In 2008 she completed a MSc in Data Communications and was a Finalist in the Intel IT Leader of the Year, at the BCS IT Industry Awards.
Sarah’s passion is providing services that are focused on meeting the needs of the customer, rather than the latest technology fad.
Sarah commented " I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as Chair of the Charities Consortium IT Directors Group. CCitDG is unique in that it brings together the IT Directors of major charities, providing a trusted environment for us to share knowledge and support each other. David Clayden has lead our organisation through dynamic growth, building our membership and reputation, whilst winning the affection and respect of all. I wish him the fulfilling retirement he so richly deserves. Boy, he’s one hard act to follow! I take on the Chair at this exciting time, hoping that you will help me to continue growing and enhancing CCitDG, and the value it holds for its members, and the wider charitable community. I look forward to working with you all. "
The committee is now as follows :-
Chair - Sarah Winmill (V&A)
Secretary - Phil Durbin (Unicef)
Treasurer - Andrew Brenson (Save the Children)
Communications Officer - Brychan Watkins (Action for Children)
Meeting Organiser - Laura Dawson (RSPB)
