Starting a Special Interest Group

Using CCITDG Website to set up a special interest group is very easy but it does require some admin support from your web administrators.  So it is a good idea to put some feelers out first and find out how many people are interested.  You can do this by setting up a forum post on the website under CCITDG Business\Affiliated Groups and SIGs :- http://www.ccitdg.org.uk/forum.aspx?g=topics&f=28

The key thing here is to make sure that there is an owner of the group.

Once you have got some interest going you might want to think about the following resources:-

Your own forum area under the SIGs Area.

Please let Elly Stimpson-Duffy know at the BCS  and she will organise setting up a SIG forum.   When she sets up the forum she will put the name of the owner on the forum.

Document Area

Please let Laura Dawson know that you wish to set up a document resources area for the SIG.

SIG  Events

If you would like to post an event please email the details to Elly Stimpson-Duffy at the BCS - She will need:-

  • Title of event
  • Date
  • Time
  • Location
  • Brief Description of event

Points to note:-

The site will be 'weeded' from time to time and if a group looks to have died, then it will be removed and archived.
